The Alessandro embodies the perfect derby: a carefully crafted cap toe that structures the toe, a sleek and very elegant silhouette, and a 5-eyelet lacing with a clean design. Offered in a deep dark brown, hand-patinated to reveal warm, lively highlights, it is the derby that brings character to a suit as well as to a more casual outfit — from chinos and a jacket to dark raw denim.

A shoe entirely hand-stitched. No glue, no shortcuts. The sole is stitched to the upper stitch by stitch by the craftsman, using the Blake method — the most noble shoemaking assembly technique. This process takes time and skilled labor, but it changes everything: the shoe is supple from day one, it breathes better because no layer of glue suffocates the leather, and above all — its sole can be replaced by a cobbler when the time comes. A Cousu Blake pair is not thrown away; it is cared for and passed on.

Nothing but leather, and the very best. We do not compromise on materials. The upper, the lining, and the insole are made of full-grain calf leather — the noblest part of the leather, the one that retains its natural grain and patinates beautifully over the years. The sole is made of genuine leather, stamped Mario Bertulli. The dark brown patina is applied by hand, shade after shade, by a patina artist: it is what gives the leather this depth of color and these subtle nuances — no pair is exactly identical to another.
